Speaking/Teaching
As a creative teacher at Virginia Tech for six years, I learned that one of the most crucial things we can give writing students is hope and a way forward. In all of my workshops, whether for children or adults, I attempt to instill these things with a very practical, hands-on approach toward creativity and learning. In addition to my university teaching experience, I’ve lectured at CREATESouth and taught a six-week long workshop through the Roanoke Public Library system. With the American Library Association’s Young Adult Services Association (YALSA), I’ve promoted teen reading and literacy across the country, speaking to students of all ages about books and writing. I have also been a panelist at Dragon*Con, WisCon, and World Fantasy Convention (among others) on topics ranging from steampunk to writing careers.
I’m available for speaking engagements both in person and online via Skype or chat. Please contact me at tiffanytrent@msn.com for rates and scheduling information.
